Town of Highlands Receiver of Taxes

Tax Collection Mission: To receive property tax payments for town government as well as special districts, town and county and school; to distribute tax revenues to these agencies, and to provide accurate and courteous answers to questions about tax payments.   All powers and duties of the office, as well as collection procedures are statutory and defined in the NYS Real Property Tax Law.

Property Tax Schedule:

Last Week of December

Property tax bills are mailed

January

Payments collected without penalty

February

Payments collected with 1% penalty

March

Payments collected with 2% penalty plus second notice fee

NO PERSONAL CHECKS AFTER MARCH 15th.

 

For check payment of bills:

-Include your address, phone and bill numbers
                -Issue check to Receiver of Taxes or Town of Highlands
                -Mail to: Receiver of Taxes, Town of Highlands, 254 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY 10928
